History

Between 1920-1950's the property was owned by the Roose's Shipping Company, a small quarry was operated west of the proposed building site.
During this time a cutting was formed along the southern side of the stream for a narrow gauge railway line linking the quarry to the Waikato river where the rock was loaded onto barges. Remnants of some of the Rooses Shipping Company barges can be seen on the western side of the Waikato River near Mercer.  Cliffs formed by the quarrying activity have created the 60ft waterfall. The northern shaded sides of the quarry are now totally covered by regenerated native bush.

From 1950's to 1991 the flatter land nearer the Waikato River was used for farming; most recently as a deer farm.
1991-2003 The land was owned by Don Jacobs and the building site was used for the manufacture of Jacob's Concrete Water Tanks (now operating from Princess St Ngaruawahia).
Jacobs levelled the building site and laid concrete slabs on which to fabricate the tanks.

2003 to present day the land has not been used.
We purchased the property in March 2007 and finally received title to the land in October 2008
